Controlled Substances Squared passes cross industry acceptance test

Scitegrity is delighted to announce that they have successfully passed user acceptance testing with the Pistoia Alliance for our novel Controlled Substances Squared (CS2) system. Completion triggers a final stage payment recognising the system has exceeded the challenging goals set by Pistoia on behalf of the wider Pharmaceutical industry. This was a joint project between Scitegrity, Pistoia and a number of Top 20 Pharmaceutical companies including AstraZeneca, Bayer, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Novartis and Roche.

The final round of testing successfully concluded a unique trial, demonstrating that CS2 can predict to a high degree of accuracy if a chemical structure is classified as a controlled substance.  Using Markush searching, combined with a dataset of known controlled substances, this trial tested against a comprehensive set of structures and legislation from three different countries – however CS2 covers over 15.

Scitegrity’s Ian Johns commented “Developing a system that can accurately access the controlled status of compounds within corporate collections of several million compounds in real time has been a massive challenge. CS2 not only does this, but also gives detailed contextual and legislative information, while automatic weekly data updates ensure ongoing compliance with ever changing legislation”.
